PTA's Sponsorship Program

PTA maintains a Sponsorship Program within its budget. Teachers, staff, and PTA members are invited to submit proposals to request funding for events, field trips, parties, and classroom and school needs. We'll update this page throughout the year with items PTA has funded. Last year, PTA funded (in whole or in part):

• Student planners for the 2018-19 school year
• Additional risers for the music room to ease crowding
• Bus expenses for a 3rd grade field trip to hear the Colorado Springs Philharmonic play at the Pikes Peak Center
• Registration fees for six 4th and 5th grade students to participate in Colorado's Elementary All-State Choir
• Challenger Learning Center's Mobile Planetarium (K-5)
• Apple TV technology for classrooms
• 4th & 5th grade field trip to Starsmore Discovery Center's Golden Prospects program
• 2nd grade field trip to Pioneer's Museum
• 3rd grade field trip to Western Museum of Mining & Industry
• Lit circle books for 2nd grade classrooms
• Milibo Art Theatre performance of Aespo A Be Bop for the entire school
•  Kindergarten & 5th grade promotion cupcakes
• 5th grade end-of-the-year trip (Mini Golf)
• End-of-the-year pizza parties for band and orchestra
• Life skills field trip to Patty Jewett
• Promethean board for the 4th grade classroom

New proposals that will be discussed and voted on at our next meeting include:

In 2017-2018, PTA funded these items and more under the sponsorship program:

•  Overnight field trip to Golden Bell Camp — 5th grade

•  New risers for the music room

•  1st & 2nd grade musical BUGZ – sets. props, and costumes

•  Kindergarten & 5th grade promotion cupcakes

•  Millibo Art Theatre field trip— grades K-2

•  Buses for other field trips

•  End-of-the-year pizza parties for band and orchestra

•  Recycling bins for all classrooms

•  Books for classrooms

•  Planners for all students for the 2018-19 school year 

•  STEM Training for our LTE

In prior years, we have also funded 

• Field trips to the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Starsmore Discovery Center, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Colorado Springs Philharmonic Philkids Performances, ACT theater performances

• In-school assemblies with guests such as Ormao's Mathtastic program, the Zoomobile, and Cool Science

• Classroom technology - ActiveBoard interactive white board

• Additional security camera for the school
• Basketball uniforms
• Art integration materials
